About
Yudai Nishiyama (西山雄大) is an engineer, creator, and sociologist. He is working mainly in the frontend development as a web application engineer, pursuing general-purpose tools that enable us our own intellectual practices. He has a strong interest in the intellectual heritage of thinkers, both ancient and modern, either famous or unknown, with in the languages and designs that facilitate their dissemination and transmission. Currently based in Japan, he is engaged in software development, design production, and book writing.

Today we are said to be in a information society. Reflecting the mass production in the material world, we rarely encounter the profound books of mastery. Generative AI might be the letterpress of the new era; it never seems to be Gutenberg himself.
We may not be able to change other persons, but we can create a technology to push society forward. “Learning from the past”, an aphorism from the Analect, tells us how we can do that. Like we are breathtaken by a wonderful scenery of the Grand Canyon, we should learn from the wisdom of our predecessors with amazement. I believe that classic books will retain their weight in the modern age.
